Citizens in Portland will make there own power

 Dateline, Oregon

The city of Portland will install what are called PPS "Positive Power Stations." Portland General Electric's statement reads: Imagine being able to put power in -- not just take it out. Power that can be made anytime - day or night. Power that is as green as the trees and you and me.

To put in plain English: this is power created by people. PPS is an exercise cycle that generates actual power. The wasted motion is transformed to power by a generator. PPS will be installed in parks and along sidewalks. Anyone can be part of the solution. Businessmen, shoppers, and even the homeless can help this village we call home.  As energy sources become more expensive, PPS may be a solution to those without homes and money. In the future, PPS may be profitable enough to justify giving out food bank vouchers to those who can create enough power.

PPS will be outside and open 24 hours a day. All you have to do is get on it and ride. Funding for the system will come from Federal grants and cuts in the local police. When asked about cutting police, the Portland mayor said, "This is positive energy we are creating with PPS. Positive energy fights negative energy. Negative energy is crime. It's simple: more positive, less crime, less police."
